I first went to Norway a few years ago and I had a fantastic holiday. It was a real adventure trip. We took our car on the ferry from Newcastle to Bergen and drove across the roof of Norway to Oslo. We stayed in the most amazing cottage which was in the middle of nowhere and in fact we had to row across a huge lake just to get there !I am due to go back to Norway in a few weeks time so I thought I would post a blog article about Norway.

If you haven’t been then you should because the country is amazing. There are not many people and the scenery is just amazing.Imagine a country where nature is a majestic gift to mankind. Imagine a country enjoying the abundance of nature. Accumulated through thousands of years. You will discover a country, which is enchantingly unique. Natural. Imagine a country where light and darkness intertwine. Where seasons melt together in colours and crystals. Imagine a country where the thawing snow gives way to blossom. Where sea and mountain unite. Discover a country where nature creates art.

Where you are invited to a life-fulfilling experience of diversity.Friendly, down-to-earth people, unique scenery, summer nights bright as day and delightful snowy winters make Norway a very special country. In summer, there are plenty of attractions and activities to keep you busy – the unspoilt open country of the Sámi people in the north and fjords, salmon fishing and festivals in the south.

Did you know that:•Norway is far stretched and diverse, reaching above the Arctic Circle.• If you turn Norway upside down it will stretch to Southern Europe.• Big city life in Oslo is different from that of a coastal village in the arctic. You can try both within a few days.• Half of Norway has sun around the clock at summer and dancing, magical, northern lights in the totally dark winter.• Go skiing and choose between four Michelin restaurants in the same afternoon.• Farms are many, small and spread out, not clustered in villages like in the rest of Europe. Try staying at one of them and get to know a farmer.• Reach towering peaks and witness the mountains dive over a thousand metres into a fjord.• Learn about the vikings. See history with your own eyes when meeting the Sami.• Let Norway take you away from the summer heat. Swim in a cold fjord with a glacier reaching into it.

Stand on The North Cape, the northernmost point on mainland Europe, and feel the breeze from the North Pole.
