I’m celebrating my wedding anniversary – Today’s customer enquiry

We get a lot of customers calling us who are looking to go to The Maldives to celebrate an important wedding anniversary. The most often asked question we get is which island in The Maldives do we recommend for an anniversay celebration. Today’s customer said that they had been on budget holidays in the UK for the last few years but they wanted to spend their money on an exotic holiday abroad. After several years of poor weather whilst they were on holiday they wanted a romantic holiday to remember in The Maldives.

Our customer also said that she wanted an All Inclusive resort as they had heard that drinks on The Maldives are expensive.

There are many good islands in The Maldives that would satisfy most discerning clients. It’s an 11 hour flight from London and you can fly direct with BA from London Gatwick and also from London Heathrow with Sri Lankan Airlines.

The island that we recommended was –

Kuramathi Island – This island was refurbished two years ago and since then it has probably become one of our best selling holidays. It is good value for money and they offer standard All Inclusive and an A la Carte All Inclusive option which in our opinion is well worth upgrading to. The water villas at Kuramathi are also of a very high standard. The sunbathing terrace’s are private and you get your own ladder into the crystal clear warm sea.

Our client said she was happy with our suggestion of Kuramathi. We had also discussed Coco Palm Dhuni Kholi and Meeru Island and she said she would call us back. Here’s hoping we have a happy customer !

Holidays to The Maldives

The recession is having an impact on the number of visitors to The Maldives. 2009 saw a drop in visitors to The Maldives but many hotels are fighting back by adopting the All Inclusive concept and offering better value for money. If you are looking for a bargain holiday to The Maldives then now is the time to book as there are plenty of special offers around to take advantage of.

Vilu Reef Resort and Spa

One island in The Maldives that has become an All Inclusive resort is Vilu Reef and Spa  on South Nilandhe Atoll. Vilu Reef is a 4 star resort but if you are looking for ultra luxury then you should look at another island but Vilu Reef does offer very good value for money. The spa is not up to the standard of what you would expect at a top class resort on The Maldives, although, there are plans to improve it.

Also, the gym is very basic and the water villas don’t have some of the features that you would expect elsewhere like a glass floor. What Vilu Reef does give you though is low prices and, of course, you still get what all the islands have in The Maldives, which is beautiful white sand beaches with palm trees and clear water. Another advantage about Vilu Reef is that it is a small island with only 122 villas and rooms of which 40 are water villas most of which have a jacuzzi. The island is friendly and well managed.

Rooms at Vilu Reef

As far as the rooms are concerned the basic rooms are the Deluxe Garden Villa rooms but they are comfortable and excellent value for money. If you have money to spend and you are on honeymoon then you might want to consider the Honeymoon Water Villas where you get the service of your own private butler.

Seaplane Transfer

Vilu Reef itself is quite a distance from Male, the capital, and you will need a seaplane transfer to get there, but that adds to the exitement.
