It seems that the Irish airline Ryanair is getting some stick recently. The airline everyone loves to hate has again been getting some free bad publicity.
Consumer body Which? Holiday has lambasted suggestions that Ryanair might start charging passenger for the use of in-flight toilets. The budget carrier’s chief executive Michael O’Leary raised the possibility during BBC TV interview this morning.”One thing we have looked at in the past and are looking at again is the possibility of maybe putting a coin slot on the toilet door so that people might actually have to spend a pound ($1.43) to spend a penny in future,” he said. Nothing us surprises us though with Ryanair.
Hot on the heels of our news about the Ryanair customer who wrote a book because of his 10 hour delay at Malaga airport comes news that Ryanair staff have had a run in with a blogger who found a glitch in the Ryanair booking system. “jason! you’re an idiot and a liar!! was the response to the blogger from Ryanair. That’s not nice language coming from a company like Ryanair.
Ryanair has also just announced that it is to close all its airport check-in desks, which will mean that all its customers will need to check-in online. It also seems that Ryanair staff need to take spelling lessons ! An article in this weeks Travel Trade Gazette mentions that a recent press release from Ryanair about the closure of 10 routes from Liverpool Airport gave the following reason for their decision. “Ryanair announces flight and job cuts at Liverpool airport, as govt.£10 APD and week sterling devastates tourism”.
Just in case you missed the spelling error, it’s the 4th word from the end of the quote above !We don’t make any apology for listing Ryanair bad publicity as they don’t like dealing with travel agents. They prefer to miss out on a huge amount of business.
